Steve sees the construction industry at a strategic inflection point where a tectonic shift is happening, and new market leaders are yet to emerge. The forces behind the change are connected to the professionalizing of the industry like other industries in the 80's and 90's went through. Steve is careful and able to lead through the unique challenges inherent with this shift. He is an adapter and bridge builder finding himself most comfortable in the nuances of hyper-scale and hyper-growth. Already, he has an impressive record of creating environments where employees feel revitalized, safe, empowered, and energized to deliver results in the modern era. POSITIVE growth is happening because he tracks the issues to the root cause and targets improving the SYSTEM without blaming the person.
He brings a demonstrated excellence in providing strategic and program leadership with combined contract values at +$1.42bn for Fortune 50 client(s), mid-size and small companies, spanning 16 States and +1,500 employees. He places a deep focus on corporate performance (budgets, planning, and P&L), PROFITABLE growth, and creating an ENERGIZED workforce with strategies to optimize employee performance. Key to his success is a focus on aligning corporate strategy to implementation strategy while anchoring core systems, processes, and procedures to a curriculum that is tethered to what happens in the day-to-day.
Steve deployed in combat 1370 days as an Infantryman and was responsible to lead in high-intensity combat and sustainment operations. For a brief time, he was in 2nd/75th Ranger Regiment and multiple units in Washington and Germany.
